‘This is only a drill’: Active shooter training taking place at Dyess AFB

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Active shooter training will be taking place at Dyess Air Force Base over the next few days.

Dyess AFB personnel wants the public to be aware of the Active Shooter/Anti-Terrorism Exercise, which will be ongoing from May 20-23.

“Please do not be alarmed if you see increased activity or hear emergency announcements on base during this time,” a press release explains. “This is only a drill designed to test and improve our emergency response procedures.”

There is no need to contact authorities in response to this drill.
