DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — An arrest has been made in a Wednesday morning shooting near downtown Dothan.

According to Dothan Police spokesperson Lt. Scott Owens, 45-year-old Kenneth Craddock was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree. He was booked into the Houston County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Lt. Owens said Craddock shot the victim in the back in a home in the 300 block of North Bell Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting occurred just after 8:00 a.m.

A release from the DPD says that once officers arrived on the scene, they saw Craddock walking down the street back to the home where the shooting took place, and he immediately admitted he was the shooter.

Witnesses on the scene claim the shooting was a result of an argument between Craddock and the victim, according to Lt. Owens.

Several people were living at the home when the shooting took place.
