One person hospitalized after being shot at Nahant Beach

One person was injured after a shooting at Nahant Beach on Wednesday night, according to police.

Massachusetts State Police responded to the entrance of Nahant Beach for a person shot around 8 p.m.

The shooting victim was transported to a Boston hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.

Investigators focus on a white Chevy that shows the driver’s side window blown out with glass on the ground underneath. There’s also a wheelchair next to the car and crime tape blocking part of the parking lot.

Many beachgoers said they heard gunshots originally thinking they were fireworks before they were told to leave the area.

“It’s crazy really crazy like you’re having a good night at the beach it’s a warm night it’s really sad and crazy,” said Monica Lee.

Police say they’re questioning a man that fits the description of the suspect. No arrests made at this time.
