One-of-a-kind Middle TN festivals happening in spring 2024

NASHVILLE, Tenn.(WKRN) – There are some festivals in Middle Tennessee that you can’t find anywhere else. In spring, the region will have multiple events to attend almost every other weekend.

Here are a few “one-of-a-kind” festivals happening in Middle Tennessee over the next two months.

83rd Annual Middle Tennessee Strawberry Festival: May 10 – 11

An annual tradition is returning to Portland on Mother’s Day weekend. The Middle Tennessee Strawberry Festival will kick off its 83rd annual Strawberry Festival on Friday, May 10. Opening day will feature fireworks and the “Strawberry Jam” concert. The main festival day be Saturday, May 11 and will include more than 200 vendors, multiple music stages, a parade and more. Tennessee Tulip Festival: Now – April 14

Make sure you visit Tennessee’s largest pick-your-tulip farm located before the spring season ends! The Tennessee Tulip Festival located at Lucky Ladd Farms in Eagleville. According to event organizers, Farmer Ladd and his crew planted more 700,000 tulip buds, showcasing over 100 different varieties of tulips. Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival: April 13

April 13th will be a day to not only celebrate springtime, but also learn more about Japanese culture. The Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival will return to Music City that from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Public Square Park. Some of the festivities include martial arts demonstrations, a Cosplay contest, live music and sumo suit wrestling. East Nashville Beer Festival: April 13

More than 1,000 unique beers are showcased at this Nashville festival! The East Nashville Beer Festival began it 2011. According to event organizers, the festival aims to bring the best craft beer to Music City and raise funds for non-profit organizations. The beer festival will take place on Saturday, April 13. Mule Day Festival: April 4-7

Mule Day celebrations in Maury County dates back to more than 180 years ago. The annual celebration of the long-eared animals will take place from April 4-7. According to the city officials, the multi-day festival attracts thousands of attendees to Columbia and the parade is the highlight of the event. Square dancing, a mule-driving contest, horse show and flea market are a few events that are featured during the festival. Monterey Banana Pudding Festival: April 6

The annual Banana Pudding Festival will take place in downtown Monterey on Saturday, April 6. This outdoor event will feature food trucks, vintage goods, a petting zoo and live music. Festivalgoers wishing to participate to in the “Puddin’ Path” tasting should come prepared with $5, according to event organizers. The first place winner in the tasting will take home bragging rights and $1,000!

24th Annual Historic Nolensville Buttercup Festival: April 14

Spring is in the air and so is the annual Buttercup Festival in Nolensville! The festival will feature live music from up to seven artists, food, vendor booths, a beauty pageant and more. Proceeds will help support the Evelyn Bennet scholarship and local charities. To learn more, click here.

Pack up the car and get ready to hit the road! These festivals are outside the Middle Tennessee area, but still have a “one-a-kind” charm.

World’s Biggest Fish Fry: April 20 – April 28

The World’s Biggest Fish Fry in Paris, Tennessee is scheduled for the last week in April. Since 1961, the event has grown from 1,600 pounds of catfish cooked to now over 5 tons, according to city officials. Take a stroll down Cornbread Alley in Marion County for this one-of-a-kind festival. The National Cornbread Festival will take place on April 27-28. Live music, arts and crafts, a 5K race and a cornbread eating contest are just few of the festivities that will be included. Knoxville Cheese Fest: April 12-13

Celebrate all things cheese at the third annual Knoxville Cheese Fest! The weekend-long event allows festivalgoers the chance to sample local, domestic and international cheeses and how to pair the dairy with other foods.
