One hospitalized after peroxide leak outside Desert Hot Springs business

One person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries on Thursday after a 55-gallon drum of peroxide leaked on the outside of a business in Desert Hot Springs.

The incident was reported at 11:27 a.m. on the 13-000 block of Little Morongo Road, which is an area with a number of cannabis businesses. Cal Fire said the building was evacuated and a hazardous materials team was mitigating the leak.

Paramedics looked at two other patients but they declined further care, Cal Fire added.

A bus was at the scene to offer temporary shelter as of 12:55 p.m.
