One hospitalized in downtown Wichita crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A person was hospitalized after a crash just south of downtown Wichita late Thursday afternoon.

According to Sedgwick County dispatch, the crash happened at Main Street and Kellogg Drive around 4:40 p.m.

“Basically, we have a simple two-vehicle accident where one of the vehicles is suspected of running the red light,” said Wichita Police Department Sergeant Charles Rogers. “We’re still trying to figure out who was at fault for running the red light by contacting a bunch of witnesses and looking at video.”

The area was temporarily blocked off, including the exit ramp. It has since been reopened.

One of the people involved in the crash was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
