One dies in crash during high-speed pursuit

May 18—A teenager died Saturday after the car he was riding in crashed during a high-speed pursuit in Ada.

The identities of those involved were not released because they are all minors.

City of Ada Public Information Director Lisa Bratcher said Ada police were responding to a burglary in progress call on West 22nd Street at around 1 a.m. when they passed a Dodge Charger driving toward town at a high rate of speed.

Officers turned around and pursued the vehicle before the driver crashed into a building at the intersection of Main and Townsend Streets.

The teenager who died was ejected from the vehicle in the crash. The remaining four minors suffered various non-life-threatening injuries, according to Bratcher.
