Woman arrested in deadly Hartsville shooting, police say

HARTSVILLE, S.C. (WBTW) — A woman is behind bars in connection to a deadly Sunday night shooting in Hartsville, police confirmed to News13 Monday.

Margie Lee Lighty was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Lighty remains in jail and was denied bond, online booking records show.

On Sunday at about 8:30 p.m., Hartsville police responded to a distress call at 414 Logan Avenue. Upon police arrival, officers found a man shot inside of the home and began life saving measures before EMS arrived, police said.

The male victim was identified as Anthony Hudson, 57, of Hartsville. Hudson was transported to Carolina Pines hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.

An autopsy will take place at the Medical University of South Carolina and an investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
