One dead after being hit by car in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala (WHNT) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says a man is dead after being hit by a car Wednesday afternoon near Ider.

The agency said 44-year-old pedestrian Randy K. Taylor was killed Wednesday when he was hit by a 2011 Mini Cooper. ALEA said he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Former Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely granted parole

According to authorities, the incident happened around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday on Alabama Highway 75 near DeKalb County Road 789 about two miles north of Ider.

ALEA said no further information is available at this time a troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
