One dead, another injured in overnight tractor-trailer crash

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — One person is dead and another is injured after a crash happened overnight on Interstate 81 in Franklin County.

Pennsylvania State Police say they were dispatched to the scene just before midnight on Friday morning after a northbound tractor-trailer rear-ended a passenger car.

After the crash, police say the tractor-trailer continued moving straight northbound on I-81, crossing both northbound lanes and entering the center grass median where it hit a metal guide wire.

Police say the passenger in the car was killed and the car’s driver was flown to York Trauma Center for non-life-threating injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
