One-day music festival coming to Elk Grove this weekend. Here’s who’s playing

Elk Grove will host a music festival this Saturday at the Old Town Plaza.

The Elk Grove Music Festival, from noon to 8 p.m. at the plaza near Elk Grove Boulevard and Railroad Street, will feature local bands and artists from Northern California and throughout the country.

The headline act is Nashville country artist Buck Ford, who’s known for his songs “Cowgirl,” “Out Baling Hay,” “A Little More Country” and “Play Me a Country Song.”

Other performers include: Whiskey Kiss, a classic rock, country and pop band from Woodbridge; Inverness95, a ‘90s and 2000s alternative rock band from Sacramento; honky-tonk and country singer Geoffrey Miller of Northern California; Spanish rock band Helios and teen rock band School of Rock.

Performing cover songs and skits in between bands will be comedian Plainutz. Brian Rose will kick the concert off with his rendition of the national anthem.

The festival is separate from the similarly titled Elk Grove Spring Music Festival, an inaugural concert that had been planned for last Saturday at the Laguna Town Hall amphitheater but was canceled last week.

This coming Saturday’s event is hosted in partnership with Coatza Brewing Company, Ardent, Meraki Logic, iHeartMedia and Explore Elk Grove.

Enrique Silva, owner of Coatza Brewing, which opened in November 2023, said he wants to bring different experiences involving music to the Elk Grove area.

“Besides making my brewery a music venue, I wanted to bring more music to the city of Elk Grove,” Silva said. “All the bands on the list play here at Coatza regularly.”

Silva said that while supplies last, those who spend more than $50 at Coatza will receive two general admission tickets to the festival. Those who spend over $100 will receive two VIP tickets.

According to the festival’s website, presale general admission tickets are $30 before tax. Presale VIP tickets are $50 before tax.

The price will increase after Thursday. General admission will go up to $40, while VIP tickets will be $60. Kids ages 8 and under will get free admission when accompanied by an adult with a paid ticket.

The Elk Grove Music Festival is an all-ages event. More information is available at elkgrovemusicfestival.com.
