Corning man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop in Bath

On Sunday, April 28, the Sayre Police Department received information about possible drug activity at a home on Draper Street in Sayre. The report states that there’s been heavy foot and bicycle traffic to the house and that the resident living there, Yanney, was arrested in the past on prior drug charges.

Police learned that Yanney had a probation warrant out of the US Marshals Service, which was a valid no-bail warrant.

Police knocked on the door to Yanney’s home where he answered the door and told police his name wasn’t Wyatt before shutting the door on police, catching the officer’s pinky in the door when he closed it.

The criminal complaint states that when more officers arrived all exits were secured before forced entry was made into the house.

Police found Yanney in the kitchen after coming out of the bathroom where he was arrested without further resistance.

Following the arrest, police searched for other people inside the home where they found several types of narcotics and drug paraphernalia in plain view including bongs, psilocybin mushrooms, pipes, and a computer screen with a search on how to buy meth online.

Police cleared the house and then obtained a search warrant where a more thorough search was done.

The report states that during the search police found several shards of meth in and around the toilet and toilet seat, making police believe that Yanney tried to flush the drugs down the toilet due to the police being there earlier in the day.

In his bedroom, police found a large meth rock, 50-70 pieces of paraphernalia, pipes, bongs, packing materials, and a scale. Nearly $1000 in cash was recovered along with several containers with dirt used to grow mushrooms and actively growing mushroom spores.

Several electronics were seized from the bedroom, and out in the living room more containers of mushrooms were found on shelving that had child toys on them, and other child products in the area, with police saying the drugs were in reach of children.

Yanney was processed and is being held on $350,000 bail and has a hearing date set for May 7.
