Oklahoma severe weather: 'Significant' severe weather forecast for Monday
Ready for another round of severe weather?
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center says central and western Oklahoma has a 30% probability of seeing severe storms on Monday.
It's too early to say exactly where or when those thunderstorms will happen, or even if they will. Meteorologists use the predictive power of computer models to generate forecasts, but at this point, the results are too variable to pinpoint.
In discussing the risk early next week, the National Weather Service said that "significant severe weather" is possible late afternoon on Monday, continuing through Tuesday evening across the central United States.
No changes were made to the risk area for severe weather this upcoming Monday. All hazards will be possible with any storm that forms. Now is the time to make sure you have a plan in place for when a warning is issued! #okwx #txwx pic.twitter.com/Aq4ojccFqM

Prepare for severe weather now
Regardless of any particular forecast, here are some things you can do this weekend to get ready for Oklahoma's severe weather season.
Figure out now where you'll go if you need to seek shelter; there are no public shelters in Oklahoma City
If you have access to a storm shelter, clean it out and get ready to use it
Get a flashlight and spare batteries
If you own a weather radio, make sure it's programmed and working properly
Identify your source for immediate weather information, like from local meteorologists
Sit down with your family and discuss what to do if there is a tornado threat
Do you have pets? Make sure there's a plan to keep your furry friends safe and secure
