Around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday thick, black smoke could be seen in the area of Coal Street and Highland Park Boulevard as a result of burning oil from the transformers.

The fire knocked out traffic lights and caused roughly 500 PPL customers to go hours without power.

As of Wednesday, power has been restored.
