Calling all animal lovers! The Worcester County Humane Society's 23rd annual Boardwalkin' for Pets will return to Ocean City's historic Boardwalk this spring.

When will Boardwalkin' for Pets take place?

Boardwalkin' for Pets is set to kick off on Saturday, April 27. Registration will open to all participants and pets at 8:30 a.m.

The walk will begin at 9 a.m. at the south end of Ocean City’s historic Boardwalk, traveling all the way up to 28th Street and back. Participants may start fundraising today by signing up online. The more money participants raise, the greater their chance of winning a great prize.

This year's event will include a special Doggie Dig, Scavenger Hunt and After-Pawty with an array of prizes and giveaways.

What is the Worcester County Humane Society?

The Worcester County Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter located at 12330 Eagles Nest Road in Berlin, Maryland. The animal shelter was initially formed in 1976 with the intent of optimizing pets’ health and welfare.

According to the Worcester County Humane Society's official website, its mission is to provide compassionate sheltering with a focus on animal well-being while providing adoption services, low-cost spay/neuter and comprehensive humane programming for local pets and pet owners.

The animal shelter, a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization, is funded mainly by its thrift store, private donors, fundraisers and grants. Boardwalkin’ for Pets is the Worcester County Humane Society's largest fundraiser held each year.
