Oak Hill man accused of discharging firearm in road rage incident

Mar. 28—Michael Williams, 44, of Oak Hill, was charged with child neglect and wanton endangerment in Raleigh and Fayette counties as a result of a road rage incident on Tuesday, according to a press release from West Virginia State Police.

Shortly after noon on Tuesday, Trooper S.A. Wickline was dispatched to a shooting complaint in the 5500 block of Robert C. Bryd Drive in Mount Hope. Wickline determined that no people were injured, and medical attention was not needed.

Williams, according to the press release, had discharged a firearm into the air, had fled the area and was later located at 1918 Summerlee Road in Oak Hill.

Wickline determined the shooting was a result of a road rage incident. It was also determined that Williams was traveling with his 1-year-old grandchild at the time of the incident.

The incident remains under investigation.
