Not as warm with a few more storms later today

A few strong storms passed through central Indiana early Wednesday morning. These have since exited the state and we have a lot of dry hours ahead of us today. Temperatures are still mild, starting in the low 70s. A cold front will pass over the state today. That, plus more cloud cover around, will keep temperatures cooler compared to the past few days. Skies will start to brighten late this morning into the early afternoon and high temperatures will rise to near 80°.

By the late afternoon, a few additional showers and storms will develop. These will be widely scattered in nature. A few strong storms are possible but that chance is rather low. Better dynamics for this will fall over southern Indiana.

Daily rain chances continue on through the rest of the week and into the weekend. However, for the most part, these rain chances will be rather spotty to widely scattered. So, expect a lot of dry time over the next several days.

The next best chance for widespread rain and storms is Sunday. Currently, the forecast for race day is not looking great. However, there is still some uncertainty in the timing and track of this system and changes to the forecast are possible between now and Sunday. Come back for updates!
