Dead body found on tracks in NYC subway station

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — Authorities found a body on the tracks in a Manhattan subway station Friday morning, according to sources and the MTA.

The person was found unconscious on the northbound express tracks at the 28th Street-Park Avenue subway station at around 9:30 a.m., police said. The unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Police sources said human remains were found on the tracks and it was unclear how they got there. Authorities could not yet determine the gender, sources said.

The Nos. 4, 5, and 6 lines were temporarily shut down and delayed this morning while officials investigated the scene, according to the MTA. Normal service has been restored, as of Friday afternoon.
