It's another windy week of road closures in Palm Springs.

North Indian Canyon Drive at the wash in Palm Springs closed again on Wednesday night due to blowing sand, low visibility and sand build-up, and police closed North Gene Autry Trail at the wash early Thursday. Indian Canyon Drive was closed last week and briefly reopened Wednesday before closing again.

East Vista Chino, which also often closes during windy weather, remained open as of Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the San Gorgonio Pass, areas near the I-10 freeway and Desert Hot Springs. The advisory goes into effect at noon Friday and continues until 2 am Saturday.

The weather forecast calls for west winds from 30-40 miles per hour with gusts expected to 60 mph in the area. Those strong winds could cause reduced visibility in areas of blowing dust and sand.
