Cheektowaga garage caught fire, spread to house

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Cheektowaga Police are investigating a house fire that occurred early Sunday morning on Losson Road.

According to a social media post made by South Line Fire, a two-car garage caught fire around 1:30 a.m. and spread to the rest of the house.

All residents, Tony and Kathryn Bundy, their 12-year-old son and two dogs, were home and were able to exit their residence before emergency crews arrived.

Several departments extinguished the fire by 4:15 a.m. and no one was injured.

Kathryn’s brother, Tony Astran, stopped by their home for the first time since the fire.

“While there’s certainly many sentimental things, heartbreaking that they’re gone — most things, they’re things,” he said. “You can replace things. You cannot replace people, so we are so grateful that even though we’re looking here at a complete loss, they’re here.”

The Bundy’s GoFundMe page can be found here.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
