Nieces of infected blood victim glad 'it's over'
The nieces of a victim of the infected blood scandal have said they are happy the UK government has apologised for the scandal.
They added it was the best outcome possible, while acknowledging it would not bring anyone back.
Their uncle, Colin Smith, from Newport, died aged seven in 1990 after contracting Aids from contaminated blood.
His niece Megan said: "It's not going to bring anyone back, and we all know that. But it is the best we are going to get."
