Niagara Falls police investigating crash involving Hyde Park building

Apr. 14—Niagara Falls police are investigating a Sunday morning crash involving a car and a building on Hyde Park Boulevard.

The accident occurred about 10:45 a.m. on the 400 block of Hyde Park Boulevard, at Webb Place.

Emergency crews arrived to find a Jeep Compass had crashed into the northwest corner of the building at 407 Hyde Park Blvd.

The vehicle and building sustained significant damage. The female driver, and sole occupant of the car, was checked out by EMS at the scene.

She signed off on medical transport.

Two witnesses told police at the scene that they were stopped at the traffic light at Hyde Park Blvd and Niagara Street facing northbound and they saw the southbound Jeep speed up and veer to left, crashing into the building.

The building is currently vacant. Its owner did respond to the scene Sunday.
