NHC monitoring 1st tropical wave of the 2024 hurricane season

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The National Hurricane Center highlighted a cluster of showers and storms near the Bahamas as a developing tropical wave.

NOAA predicts very active hurricane season, issues highest ever May forecast

The complex only has a 10% chance of organizing into a tropical depression or storm, and it will drift farther out into the Atlantic Ocean.

While this system is not much of a concern for the U.S., it is the first developing area of concern for the 2024 Hurricane Season.
