Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation donates $2,500 to Valley Rescue Mission

The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation and WRBL-TV announced on Wednesday the Foundation will donate $2,500 to Valley Rescue Mission.

Valley Rescue Mission has been giving second chances in the community since 1963 with programs that provide a safe and caring environment for those struggling with addiction, homelessness and those stuck in the cycle of poverty.

Mike Gaymon, President and CEO of Valley Rescue Mission, had this to say on the donation.

“We can give someone a hot meal for about two dollars and 25 cents or so, so the donation that WRBL is making today will help feed about a thousand people,” said Gaymon. “That’s how impactful this donation is: every dollar counts and we’re grateful that [W]RBL would choose to give us these dollars to put back into those in need.”

At the heart of their mission is the Family Services ministry, which can be found Valley Rescue’s main campus at 2903 Second Avenue.

“WRBL and the Nexstar Charitable Foundation, which is the charitable arm of our parent company Nexstar Media, are please to provide this $2500 grant to the Valley Rescue Mission. Since 1963, the Valley Rescue Mission has been focused on serving the needs of the homeless, those with addictions and those in need of meals, clothing, furniture, and groceries,” said Joe McGuire, Vice President and General Manager of WRBL-TV. “The Mission also provides an ‘in-residency’ for men and women in its drug addition programs. Our team at WRBL is honored to provide this grant to such a worthy organization in our community which will positively impact those in need.”

The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation’s mission is to contribute to and work with public charities and non-profit organizations to improve the communities in which Nexstar Media and its subsidiaries do business. The foundation was originally established in 1958 and it makes donations of approximately $350,000 annually.
