Nestlé USA recalls metallic mugs sold with Starbucks gift sets due to burn hazard

If you bought or received a Starbucks mug recently, read this before using it.

The company is recalling nearly half a million mugs after discovering the containers can overheat, causing them to break.

The mugs were sold online and in stores from November through January and were manufactured by Nestle USA. The mugs were available over the holidays as part of gift sets sold at Target and Walmart.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the recall and Nestle confirmed it.

According to the recall, 10 people were injured by the cups. Most were burns, though one person suffered a laceration.

People who purchased the mugs, which include Starbucks Holiday Gift Set with two mugs, Starbucks Classic Hot Cocoa and mug, Starbucks Peppermint and Classic Hot Cocoas and mug and Starbucks Holiday Blend Coffee and mug, can return them where they purchased them for a refund or a gift card.
