Nationwide Children’s Hospital receives $100 million gift, launches fundraising campaign

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Nationwide Children’s Hospital has announced it has received the largest ever corporate foundation commitment to a children’s hospital in the country.

It was announced Wednesday afternoon that the Nationwide Foundation has given the hospital a 10-year, $100 million commitment. With that funding, Children’s Hospital publicly launched its campaign “Empower the Possible”, which aims to raise $500 million.

With the new funding from the Nationwide Foundation, the campaign total has now reached $270 million. “Today’s landmark announcement is inspiring for the entire team as we work to achieve our ambitious strategic plan,” said Nationwide Children’s Hospital CEO Tim Robinson. “We exist to achieve best outcomes for children everywhere, and Nationwide has been by our side every step of the way. We are honored to have the Nationwide Foundation as a leading contributor to our campaign.”

Nationwide Foundation has been providing contributions to Children’s Hospital for 18 years. This $100 million commitment will aim to help the hospital’s strategic plan, including funding for advanced treatment and clinical care, expanding access to behavioral health services, and raised support for genomics research and personalized medicine.
