The National Weather Service has issued a severe red flag warning and wind advisory for Augusta County. A high wind warning has also been issued Wednesday afternoon with gusts now up to 60 mph.

With the relative humidity as a low as 20% and the combination of dry conditions and strong gusty winds, conditions for the rapid spread of fire is favorable, said NWS.

Fuel moisture is less than 10% for 10-hour fuels.

Take action as soon as possible and make preparations per the description, advised NWS.

The wind advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
