National Drug Take Back Day locations across the Sacramento area

(FOX40.COM) — On Saturday, dozens of law enforcement agencies across the Sacramento region will be participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

This event is hosted annually by the Department of Drug Enforcement Administration in an effort to reduce the number of overdoses caused each year by prescription drugs.

Eligible Drop-Off Items

  • Prescription medications

  • Over-the-counter non-prescription medications

  • Veterinary medications

  • Vaping devices (without batteries)

Ineligible Drop-Off Items

  • Needles or lancets

  • Medical waste

  • Illegal drugs, including marijuana

Each take-back location will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
