NASA astronauts visit Montgomery County elementary students

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Three NASA astronauts visited Rolling Terrace Elementary School to tell students about their adventures in space.

Hundreds visit Bethesda neighborhood to view cherry blossoms

Frank Rubio, a physician and flight surgeon, Sultan Al Neyadi, first United Arab Emirates astronaut to serve a 6-month mission on the International Space Station, and Stephen Bowen, the only astronaut to fly on consecutive space shuttle missions to the International Space Station, shared their experiences and space studies, according to Montgomery County Public Schools.

The trio told students what it felt like to float in space, answered any questions and told the students to never give up on their dreams.

At the end, the astronauts presented the principal with framed photos of their missions along with an American flag that was in space, which were displayed inside the school as a reminder for the students to follow their dreams.
