Myrtle Beach restaurant owner jailed on new drug charges

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The owner of a Myrtle Beach restaurant where two men were shot and killed in October 2020 was arrested Monday on multiple drug charges.

Gabe Jackson, 45, who owns Allen’s Food Basket, remains in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center after being charged with trafficking in meth or cocaine base and trafficking in cocaine of more than 28 grams but less than 100 grams.

Horry County deputies conducted a home detention residential check for Jackson on Monday, according to an arrest warrant. They found Jackson “knowingly and intentionally” in possession of a clear plastic baggie containing a clear, rock-like substance.

There was about 19 grams of crack cocaine in the bag, according to the warrant. A report said Jackson also was found with other indications of trafficking and distribution.

Jackson was arrested in November on a slew of drug and other charges. In that incident, he was charged with manufacturing or possessing drugs with intent to deliver; trafficking in cocaine; simple possession of marijuana; driving with a suspended license and two counts of failure to appear.

Jackson testified during a December 2022 trial for two men acquitted in the shooting that he was also wounded in.

Online jail records show he has not been given a bond on his new charges as of this writing.
