Myers Park boys basketball coach taking job at new private school: Source

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Myers Park High School boys basketball coach is taking a new job a year removed from a state championship.

CSL sources confirmed a Charlotte Observer report that head coach Scott Taylor is leaving the Mustangs to take a job at a new Huntersville private school.

The source says that Taylor and an assistant coach are going to Ambassador Christian School in Huntersville, which will launch this upcoming school year. Taylor led Myers Park to its first Class 4A state championship during the 2022-23 season and had a 145-62 record in eight seasons at the school.

Myers Park’s 2023-24 season ended Friday night in the 4A regional semifinals with a loss to North Meck. The Mustangs were the 1 seed in the West after going undefeated in the South Meck 4A Conference.
