How to Mute Annoying Group Texts on Your iPhone

Filethis under one of those tiny iPhone hacks that is slightly obvious, but no one really remembers how to do.

We've all been there: A friend initiates a group text to plan an upcoming adventure with you and what seems like 1,416 other people, and a feeling of dread overwhelms you.

If you're one of those iPhone users who can't handle the public shame of leaving a group thread, you're going to want to listen up. There is a way to mute a flurry of group thread messages without letting anyone in on your secret.

It'll take you less than 10 seconds to restore your peace and quiet.

Click into the message and select Details on the top right corner. Then select Do Not Disturb.

This will disable the notifications for that specific group chat and let you jump in on the conversation when you're good and ready. File this under one of those tiny iPhone hacks that is slightly obvious, but is easy to forget when you need it most.
