Multiple people injured after Vancouver apartment fire

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Multiple people are being treated for injuries after an apartment fire in Vancouver that happened just after 8 a.m. Thursday.

At least one person was critically injured and taken to the hospital, officials said. They were inside the room where the fire took place, on the third floor of the building at 1351 Lincoln Ave. Others were also reportedly injured by falling glass from the building.

“In total, there were nine units from Vancouver Fire Department that responded. It was a single-alarm incident and it was controlled in about 10 minutes,” said Bryan Fredrickson with VFD. “This looks like it could have been a lot worse. Crews made a really quick stop and were very aggressive in their attempts to control the fire and search the building.”

It’s currently unknown what the condition is of the person who was taken to the hospital and how the fire started but KOIN 6 News is working to learn more.

This is a developing story. KOIN 6 will update this article if more information becomes available.
