Multiple injured after NE Oklahoma City shooting

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Multiple people were injured in a shooting in northeast Oklahoma City Thursday evening.

“There have been quite a few robbery’s, shootings and everything else,” neighbor Lawrence Simpson said.

Those sounds of gunshots and even police sirens are not necessarily new to Lawrence Simpson.

“You could say that,” he said. “Most of the time it’s down back towards the back that it happens.”

Thursday night by his home near NE 23rd Street and Bryant Avenue Simpson would hear those familiar sounds again. The restaurant called “This Iz It!” isn’t far from his home and Oklahoma City Police officials said that’s where an argument started. That argument eventually led to lots of gunfire and multiple injuries with one person sent into surgery.

“Different sets of people shooting back and forth at one another,” Sgt. Dillon Quirk with the Oklahoma City Police Department said. “Two were taken to area hospitals via ambulance. One arrived at a separate hospital in a private vehicle.”

Simpson was in his kitchen when the shots rang out.

“Came through the back door, looked out, didn’t see anything,” he said.

Minutes later, he said police filled area. Friday, they said everyone involved has been identified. One person who took a victim to the hospital came back to the scene and had knowledge of the incident, but no arrests have made.

“That could change,” Quirk said. “But we’ll have to wait and see how the D.A. wants to go about it.”

“I just hope that no one died over it,” he said.

No one died from their injuries as of right now and no one else was injured. The investigation into the situation is ongoing.
