Multiple barns damaged after two tornadoes hit Wisconsin in one day

(WFRV) – Officials in southern Wisconsin say multiple barns were damaged after two tornadoes came through Wisconsin on the same day.

According to a release from the US National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan Wisconsin, on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 7, two tornadoes occurred in the southern part of the state.

Officials say the first tornado was rated an EF-0 which developed and touched down in northern Illinois and tracked into Wisconsin to the south of Walworth before ending to the east of Walworth.

The tornado reportedly caused damage to the main structure of a barm near Weidner Road, causing it to collapse and land on a number of sheep using the barn for shelter. A shed was also lofted and destroyed along Six Corners Road near Highway 67.

The second tornado was rated as an EF-1 and was briefly on the ground to the south of Darien. Officials say no injuries were reported despite it hitting a horse barn on Wise Road with farmers inside providing care to the horses.

These are the first tornados to hit Wisconsin since one hit near the Rock and Dane counties border back in February. More information including the path of each tornado can be seen below.
