Multiple accidents send several to the hospital

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Three vehicle accidents on the night of April 13 sent multiple people to the hospital with injuries.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Grand Junction Police responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near 29 Road and Unaweep Avenue. Jesse Bruckner, the driver of the motorcycle, sustained injuries from the crash and was transported to a local hospital. Later that night around 10:30 p.m., Grand Junction Police responded to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of 25 Road and Industrial Boulevard. Three people were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. A spokesperson for GJPD did not say if any charges have been filed in the accident, but law enforcement believes alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Then at 10:58 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, Colorado State Patrol responded to the Maverick gas station in Clifton to a report of car surfing. Car surfing is when a person rides on the top of a moving car. CSP said two 19-year-olds and a 21-year-old, all from El Jebel, were involved in the incident. One 19-year-old was driving a Dodge Charger around the gas pumps while the other 19-year-old was riding on top of the car. The person on top fell off the car and was transported to an area hospital. CSP says he was conscious after the accident. The 19-year-old driver is charged with reckless driving.
