New multifamily housing complex opens at Ballpark Village in Goodyear. Here's what we know

Goodyear is moving forward with the development of Ballpark Village, with the opening of a luxury apartment complex.

It's one of the city's development hot spots, along with the downtown GSQ area. The city has focused on bringing residential and commercial development to the area over the past few years.

As the name suggests, Ballpark Village is located around Goodyear Ballpark — the spring training location for the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Guardians— making it a prime location for visitors. Last year, the city brought in around 130,000 visitors for Spring Training.

The area has several commercial developments surrounding it, including restaurants like Red Lobster, vegan restaurant Bereisheet 129 and N-DUB Pizza Pub.

Solace at Ballpark Village, a high-end residential community, recently announced that it was accepting leasing applications for its one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment units. The apartment building is located at 2445 S. Estrella Parkway, which is within walking distance of Goodyear Ballpark.

The apartment is a luxury one, with home amenities including kitchens with quartz countertops, washers and dryers and private patios or balconies.

Community amenities of the complex include a pool and spa, outdoor yoga lawn, an outdoor entertainment center with grilling stations, a fitness center and dog park. It also is the only complex in the immediate area with elevator access.

According to the community's website, rent starts at about $1,500 for a 650- to 775-square-foot, 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment. Prices for a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment start at about $1,800 and go up to about $2,000 depending on the size. A three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment costs $2,220 for about 1,400 square feet.

Solace at Ballpark Village was developed by Chicago-based Jackson Dearborn Partners. It will be the developer's first completed project in Arizona. It first opened an office in Scottsdale in 2019.

The developer's second Arizona community will open over the summer in Casa Grande, and it will also break ground on another community in Goodyear later this year. Other multifamily communities are in various stages of development in Chandler, Peoria and Scottsdale.
