(COLORADO SPRINGS) — All six candidates for Colorado’s 5th Congressional District will be in attendance at a town hall hosted by Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center in Colorado Springs this week.

The announcement comes after U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) announced at the beginning of the year that he would not be running for reelection and would be retiring from the U.S. House of Representatives at the end of 2024.

“It’s vitally important that the veteran and military community gets to hear from the candidates,” said Col. (Ret.) Bob McLaughlin, Executive Director of Mt. Carmel. “And, since the district has one of the highest concentrations of veterans and military members, it’s important the candidates hear our community concerns.”

The event will take place on Thursday, April 18 at 5 p.m. and will include networking time with all candidates followed by a 90-minute forum that ends at 7 p.m.

Candidates for Colorado’s 5th Congressional District include:

  • Jeff Crank, (R)

  • Dave Williams, (R)

  • River Gassen, (D)

  • Joe Reagan, (D)

  • Christopher Mitchell, (Constitutional Party)

  • Katrina Nguyen, (I)

The field of candidates will be narrowed down during the June 25 primary election, ahead of November’s general election. Anyone planning to attend Thursday night should RSVP to Yvonne Robinson at yrobinson@mtcarmelcenter.org.
