MSP: Pipe bomb found inside car in Barry County

PRAIRIEVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say the Michigan State Police Bomb Squad disabled a pipe bomb that was found inside a car in Barry County.

Michigan State Police said it started around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday as a traffic stop on M-43 near Hickory Road in Prairieville Township near Gull Lake.

One man was arrested for outstanding warrants, and another man was arrested for possession with intent to deliver methenamine and felony firearm charges. While searching the car, MSP said troopers found a suspected pipe bomb.

The MSP Bomb Squad was called and safely removed and disabled the pipe bomb.
