Motorcyclist killed in Marion County crash, highway patrol says

MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A motorcyclist was killed in a Marion County crash early Tuesday morning, South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred at about 5:44 a.m. on Highway 501 near S.C. 41 south of Mullins.

The motorcyclist was driving a 2012 Harley Davidson trike motorcycle. As the motorcyclist was traveling north on Highway 501, they ran off the right side of the road and hit an embankment, SCHP said.

The driver of the motorcycle died on the scene from their injuries, according to SCHP.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office has not released the identity of the victim, and the crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
