Motorcyclist dead after crash involving bus in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — Police shut down part of Duke Street on Tuesday after a deadly crash involving a motorcycle and a DASH bus.

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said in a post on the X platform just after 5:30 p.m. that both directions of Duke Street between Paxton and Walker streets were closed after the wreck in which the motorcyclist died.

Police said that the motorcyclist died there. No one on the bus was hurt, and police were not sure if anyone other than the driver was on the bus at the time of the accident.

APD said that investigators would be at the scene for “several hours.”
