Motorcycle rider killed in southern Colorado Springs crash

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A motorcycle rider has been killed in a crash that happened on the evening of Tuesday, May 14, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

CSPD said on Tuesday at around 8:30 p.m. officers were called to the intersection of South Academy Boulevard and Milton E. Proby Parkway about a single-vehicle crash.

When police arrived they found a motorcycle and the rider who was dead on the scene. the Major Crash Team was notified and assumed the investigation.

Police said the investigation showed the motorcycle was going west on Milton E. Proby Pkwy. when it failed to navigate the curve to go south on S. Academy Blvd. The motorcycle hit the guard rail and the rider was ejected. According to police, speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
