LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The historical Morehouse College Glee Club is making a stop in Hill City to perform at the Academy Center of the Arts.

The club is the premier singing organization of the Historically Black College and University, Morehouse College. The HBCU is an all men’s college located in Atlanta, Georgia. The singing organization travels nationally and worldwide, using its choral performance to demonstrate its discipline, dedication, and brotherhood.

The traditional organization dates back to 1911 and has continued to uphold the standards of musical excellence.

Over the last 113 years, the Glee Club has performed the National Anthem with Natalie Cole for the Super Bowl XXVII, with Stevie Wonder and Gloria Estrent, at the Witness Concert, and more. The organization of singers was also featured in the American Family Insurance commercial with Jennifer Hudson.

The singing crew recorded, “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands,” for Spike Lee’s movie “Miracle at St. Anna.”
