More thunderstorms expected today through Thursday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Severe weather is possible Tuesday through Thursday with the worst weather possible Wednesday night, the National Weather Service says.

Thunderstorms were pushing across the Mid-South Tuesday morning with gradual clearing expected toward the afternoon. Tuesday afternoon will be warm and muggy.

Thunderstorms are expected to redevelop Tuesday night and could be strong.

Wednesday looks a bit more concerning. Wednesday evening/night will feature the best chance of severe weather we’ve seen all spring. Details are still coming into focus, but a robust severe weather environment will likely yield damaging winds, hail and a few tornadoes.

Some of the worst severe weather is likely to be after dark on Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon will be hot and muggy.

Once we get through this, we have some fantastic weather coming our way late in the week.
