More ‘LIBERAL than anyone running as a Democrat’: Trump keeps up attacks on RFK Jr.

Former President Donald Trump is turning up the heat on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the reality sets in that Kennedy’s quixotic White House bid could siphon Republican support away from him.

Kennedy is “far more LIBERAL than anyone running as a Democrat, including West and Stein,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday morning, referencing third-party candidates Cornel West and Jill Stein.

Trump claimed without evidence that Kennedy, who is running as an independent, was pushed out of the Democratic Party “because he was taking primary votes away” from President Joe Biden.

Kennedy, the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy and son of former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, has long been a concern for Democrats backing Biden’s bid, though his policy platforms sometimes diverge from the party. But as polls show Kennedy drawing support from members of both parties, Trump has begun to acknowledge the threat the independent could pose in a race where the margin of victory for Trump or Biden is currently looking slim.

“They say he hurts Biden. I’m not sure that that’s true, and I think he probably hurts [us] both,” Trump said of Kennedy in a recent radio interview.

Sunday morning’s Truth Social musings follow a lengthy Saturday diatribe, in which Trump accused Kennedy of being a “Democrat ‘Plant’.”

“RFK Jr. is a Democrat ‘Plant,’ a Radical Left Liberal who’s been put in place in order to help Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the History of the United States, get Re-Elected. A Vote for Junior’ would essentially be a WASTED PROTEST VOTE, that could swing either way, but would only swing against the Democrats if Republicans knew the true story about him. Junior’ is totally Anti-Gun, an Extreme Environmentalist who makes the Green New Scammers look Conservative, a Big Time Taxer and Open Border Advocate, and Anti-Military/Vet…” Trump wrote.
