Montgomery Co. final election results favor property assessor, boot school board incumbent

Final results show that four incumbents in the Republican primary will hold their seats for the next term, and one newcomer will be taking the seat of an incumbent on the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System school board.

Incumbent Erinne J. Hester (5,053 votes) will hold her seat as Property Assessor over Caitlin Castle-Swaffer (4,118 votes).

Election night concluded as 38 Montgomery County precinct officials reported election results shortly before 9:30 p.m.

Highly contested offices included Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board seats and the Assessor of Property race.

District 4 incumbent Kent Griffy faced no opposition, easily holding on to his seat.

District 6 incumbent Charles (Charlie) Patterson (636 votes) lost the primary to newcomer Chris Lanier (1,053 votes), who in August will face Bernard Carter, Jr., who won the Democratic primary unopposed. Challenger Maribeth Knight garnered 438 votes in the same district.

Kacie Bryant came out as the Republican primary winner in the school board's District 2 with 812 votes, while David L. Johnson received 670. In August, Bryant will face Ritchie Patton, who ran unopposed in the Democratic primary and Laura Barnett who will be running as an Independent.

Erinne J. Hester 5,053 votes 55.01%

Caitlin Castle-Swaffer 4,118 votes 44.83%

Highway Supervisor

Jeffery H. Bryant, Jr. 8,527 votes 99.37%

Write-In 54 votes 0.63%

Kacie Bryant 812 votes 54.75%

David L. Johnson 670 votes 45.18%
