Mobile woman found guilty in 2020 Main Street Food Mart homicide

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile woman was found guilty of reckless manslaughter in a 2020 shooting that killed 31-year-old David Green, according to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office.

A Mobile County jury found Kiya Henderson, 29, responsible for Green’s death.

Fairhope Police seek teenage girl who allegedly ran away

Assistant District Attorney Coy Morgan presented testimony of a fight that occurred between Henderson and David Green on the night of Dec. 31, 2020, at the Main Street Food Mart in Prichard.

SHOOTING LOCATION:

Officers responded to the scene and found Green with a gunshot wound in his back, and he died of his injury.

“This type of violence took place at a public establishment, where a number of innocent shoppers could have been potentially injured, if not killed,” Mobile County District Attorney Keith
Blackwood said.

“My office will continue to prosecute those offenders who must be held responsible for their appalling actions.”

Circuit Judge Brandy Hambright will sentence Henderson on June 14.

Henderson faces anywhere from 2 to 20 years in prison.
