Mobile teen drowns in Escatawpa River: George County Sheriff’s Office

GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WKRG) — An 18-year-old Mobilian’s body was found in the Escatawpa River Saturday, according to a George County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

Deputies were called to the area of Escatawpa River Bridge on Highway 612 around 4:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a possible drowning, according to the post.

Divers from the George County Search and Rescue Dive Team found a man’s body after they searched the water.

The post said the county coroner identified the man as 18-year-old Jose Garcia.
