Mobile Police arrest Popeyes robbery suspect

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A local man was arrested Friday morning in connection with a Tuesday robbery at a Popeyes restaurant, according to the Mobile Police Department.

59-year-old Roosevelt Thomas Jackson of Mobile was arrested Friday morning and charged with first-degree robbery, according to an MPD news release.

The release said officers were called to the Government Street Popeyes Restaurant around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a robbery.

When officers arrived, they learned that a man, now identified as Jackson, had gone into the restaurant and demanded money, the release said.

The suspect left on foot before the officers arrived.

Jackson’s bond hearing is set for May 29, according to the Mobile County Metro Jail Log.
