According to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office Southern District of Alabama, U.S. District Court Judge Terry F. Moorer sentenced 40-year-old David Bailey of Mobile to 120 months in federal prison.

This comes after, according to court documents, Bailey was arrested by the Mobile Police Department on October 26, 2022, following a search warrant of his residence. During the search, it was reported that police found a firearm on a couch, powder cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, an ecstasy pill, and a bottle of promethazine syrup.

Bailey allegedly admitted to ownership of the firearm and was indicted for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He pled guilty to the charge, according to reports.

The case, investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Mobile Police Department, was part of Project Safe Neighborhoods — a program aimed at bringing together law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence and make communities safer.
